Prospect Park Zoo Teaching Fellowship



The Education Department offers paid fellowships to qualified recent college graduates or graduate students. Teaching Fellows will develop and conduct educational programs and assist with outreach programs. In addition, Fellows will work with the Curator to develop and oversee activities in the Discovery Center and host Birthday Parties. Fellows must be able to work 20 hours a week (including one weekend day) for approximately 20-40 weeks.

Candidates should possess a strong background in one or more of these areas:

  • Zoology 
  • Ecology
  • Biology 
  • Education

Education Experience in teaching is highly desirable.  An interest in wildlife conservation and the ability to relate to children are essential.
The zoo is currently looking for fellows to begin in May 2008 and September 2008.
