Feel like sending your students to the rain forest? Wish a life-size puppet could teach your class? Bring Wildlife Theater to your school!

Auditorium Series: Grades K–4

The interactive performances of our Auditorium Series are designed to engage up to 300 students through drama, puppetry, and music. These exciting shows highlight wildlife conservation and tips for students to make a positive impact on the environment.

Shows in the Auditorium Series include a wetland- or rain forest-themed HELP (Habitat Ecology Learning Program) curriculum guide. Each guide features a multimedia element, classroom activities, and fully developed lesson plans. The curriculum is supported by the National Science Foundation and provides pre- and post-visit learning modules that extend the Wildlife Theater visit beyond the auditorium.

    Cool Rainforest Connections
Students learn how conservation in New York City can affect the rain forest habitat a continent away. The show stars our intrepid heroine Jungle Jane and her puppet sidekick, Youcan the Toucan, and features an engaging audience-participation poem. Also included is our play The Adventures of Captain Cocoa, in which the audience joins Captain Cocoa on an adventure to save the rain forest. This superhero’s funny antics will help students discover that it might be the common person who can really save the day.
    Recommended for grades K–4.
  • Migration Sensation
In this multi-layered performance, students learn about the importance of wetlands through poetry, songs, games, and a musical, The Great Migration Adventure.  Your students help two birds on a musical journey from North America to the tropics and then back to New York City.
    Recommended for grades K–4.
  • Butterfly Boogie
Take off on a 3,000-mile adventure with our butterfly-themed show featuring The Tale of Flutterby and Piggle. This heartwarming story depicts the relationship between a monarch butterfly and the plant that sustains him. Students learn about the interdependence between plants and animals through science, song, and audience participation.
    Recommended for grades K–4.
  • Polar Opposites
Antarctica and the Arctic Circle are two sides of the world that may look and feel the same, but each pole is home to very different types of animals. Students explore both icy lands in two participatory shows, Polar Bear and the Beat and A Penguin State of Mind.
    Recommended for grades K–3.
  • Perfectly Penguin
Why would a wild polar bear never eat a penguin? Find out why and learn many other fascinating facts about penguins and the Antarctic land they call home. Students also learn about penguin adaptations in our interactive show, A Penguin State of Mind.
    Recommended for grades 3–5.
